Hi, I am Veronika Javorská. I am a graphic design graduate from the Czech Republic based in Salzburg, Austria. I enjoy creating stuff and collaborating with people. Sometimes I travel and sometimes I code.

I design🪄
and code🧑💻.
My favorite part of the creative process is finding structures within existing systems and breaking them to make them more understandable for users. I find it much more interesting and enjoyable to be part of a team where we can collaborate and learn from each other.
I believe the start of my website design journey began when I was 13 years old and had several blogs dedicated to inspirational people. The joy of creating uncluttered web pages and writing about various topics has remained with me ever since.
I initially studied
Applied Informatics
, but I missed art, so I decided to study at a university that offered a program in designing systems and structures from the perspective of Fine Arts, while still allowing me enough freedom to incorporate code in most of my projects. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree at Brno University of Technology in the
Studio of Graphic Design 2.
During my studies, I also had the opportunity to study
Visual Communications
at Listaháskóli Íslands in Reykjavík as part of the ERASMUS+ experience.
In 2022, I interned at the London-based magazine on women in sport The Movement Movement.
In october 2023, I joined the Swedish company called Poc, 🚴❄️
and have been part of the team as a Junior Digital Designer since then.
I take care of the website, newsletters and ads.
I have worked on several projects in the past few years. My clients include the town of
Černá Hora,
Hopeless Surfboards,
Malá noc módy, and
Megan Gayda Photography.
I design using Figma and often use the Adobe Package. I have experience with coding languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I also use libraries such as Three.js and p5. I have attended courses and workshops to enhance my skills:
Czechitas, HTML, and CSS
Jan Brož, Screen printing
Helena Lukášová, Processing (JS library)
And so far has earned these certificates:
Freecodecamp Responsive Web Design Certificate
Foundations of User Experience (UX) Design Certificate (Coursera feat. Google)
Scrimba JavaScript course
When I'm not sitting at my laptop, I also enjoy writing and reading, taking photos, art (especially Basquiat's work), surfing small waves, dancing (when there's good music), and drinking coffee.
Since I have always had many hobbies, being able to explore many different topics in depth through design is what makes this journey so enjoyable.
Would you like to collaborate or say hello 🌞? It would be lovely to hear from you through this form!
Černá Hora (A Czech Town)
Černá Hora visual identity
Main black & white logo
In collaboration w/ Lukáš Kříž
During our time at university, Lukáš and I had the opportunity to collaborate on a visual identity for the Moravian town of Černá Hora, which translates to “Black Mountain” in English.
Inspired by the town's rich heritage, we incorporated two significant elements from its old coat of arms: a black triangle and the letter “Č”, representing the town's name. Combining these two symbols, we created a new logo featuring the letter “Č” with a missing triangle.
Černá Hora visual identity
Main black & white symbol
We applied this personalized letter throughout the entire alphabet in all our materials. We integrated a small triangle texture into the imagery, adding color to the overall design system. This approach provides a playful touch that maintains consistency within the identity while preserving the individuality of the images or illustrations used.

MNM (Small Night of Fashion)
In collaboration w/ Svatopluk Ručka
I had the opportunity to contribute to the development of a manifesto website for Malá noc módy (”Small Night of Fashion”), a collective based in Brno. Svatopluk led the main design decisions, while I focused on the UX aspects of the website and its coding.
The primary goal was to create an online platform that presents a manifest, offering users an explanation of the project and providing links to the collective's podcasts and social networks.
MNM website is up and running on

Dawn Patrol
Dawn Patrol is my bachelor project, a website where I explored conventional map systems and developed my own method of mapping six dipping spots in Donegal.
The objective was to describe my experiences of cold-water sea swimming and highlight the differences between these spots without exploiting them. Through the use of sounds, visuals, and texts, I aimed to allow users to fill in the gaps of the known and unknown. Dawn Patrol serves as a personal memory map of the wonderful Irish dipping places I've encountered.
Users can navigate through my swimming utopia while exploring each “island” that has visual, text and sound layer. I enjoyed connecting the poetic experience of being in nature with the digital space created using the JavaScript library called Three.js.

Megan Gayda Photography
Megan is a photographer based in County Sligo who captures the essence of Irish waters. I had the opportunity to work on her online photography portfolio.
Through the links on the website, we employ a sharpening effect, similar to focusing on a subject through a camera lens.
With a clean and minimalist design, the spotlight is on Megan's captivating photographs of the ocean, waves, and people.

Comfort Design
In collaboration w/ Michaela Kempná
Comfort Design is Michaela's bachelor project. It is an activation publication for seniors, consisting of practical exercises that help maintain mental and cognitive activity, develop preserved abilities, and contribute to the quality of life.
I contributed to the coding of a website for this project, designed for individuals who wish to print out a PDF book for their loved ones.
The website features a simple design with a white and green color scheme. It allows visitors to browse through the book easily, download the PDF book or learn more about the project.
Sadly, this website is not available online anymore.

Hopeless Surfboards
Hopeless Surfboards
Main black & white logo
I enjoyed rebranding surfboards produced right here in County Donegal, Ireland. Inspired by the retro designs of the 70s surfboard logos, I customized the typography, playing with shading the letters. The letterspace logo “HOPELESS” is screenprinted in white and gold, adding a touch of car-like speed to the surfboards.
Hopeless Surfboards
Imagery
Additionally, the upcoming imagery incorporates elements from the universe, particularly the mesmerizing black holes of hopelessness.

Bläfjöll visual identity
Screenprint on a trifted piece
During my Erasmus experience in Reykjavík, Iceland, we worked on a new visual identity and information design system for one of the local ski centers, Bläfjöll. The ski center has been drawing inspiration from Icelandic fairytales and we took this concept even further.
While ensuring the slope signs adhered to the European standard numbering and color system, we had fun incorporating Icelandic fairytale imagery. A collection of stickers was designed to be used across the entire information design system, ranging from a new ski center map to screenprints on thrifted t-shirts.

Our goal was to inject playfulness into the system while maintaining clarity for navigating within Bläfjöll.
